Portland Actors Ensemble is gearing up for their 35th season of Shakespeare in the Park with a production of Love’s Labour’s Lost. Wonderful opportunity for a picnic! I’ve been wanting to dine at Lauro for a long time, but every time I’ve been by there the line has been out the door, and I haven’t been prepared to wait for a table. I’d heard many incredible things about the food, though.

My family was up to visit this weekend, and we were cruising the neighborhoods looking for a restaurant that struck our fancy. Windows open as we drove up Division, the tempting smell of saffron teased us as I said, “You know, I’ve always wanted to eat there.” The aromas also convinced my family that this was the right place to dine, so I parked and we made our way to the restaurant.
