Andy, my new roommate

After several months without a dog, I decided to foster again. My coordinator needed temporary homes for hounds, and I missed having a foster dog, so it was a good match all around. I just had to request a dog that would be easier to place since I don’t know how long I’ll be able to foster while I’m trying to sell my house.
Andy moved in this morning with a minimal amount of furniture, a zip baggie of food, and the fur on his back. Unfortunately, a bed was not among the furniture that came with him, so I am washing the dog bedding that I have on hand. Andy was really shy at first, but he is starting to warm up to me. He’s discovering that the office is where I am a majority of the time, so this is where he wants to be, too.
I’ve been told that he suffers from separation anxiety if left in small enclosed places (hey, me too!) and is prone to car sickness. No problems with small animals, cats, other dogs, or children. Andy is just shy of two years old and was with his adopted family for three months, so he probably wasn’t meant to be a racer. They didn’t give any definitive reason for releasing him back to my organization other than that they didn’t want him anymore. Poor guy. He is a very handsome brindle and has a wonderful disposition, so I have no doubt he’ll be adopted quickly at one of our upcoming events.

Aww he’s gorgeous! Poor thing – no wonder he has separation anxiety if he keeps getting dumped. I hope he finds a wonderful family.
One of the best things I’ve ever done was decide to wander through the Humane Society one day for lack of anything better to do. I just happened to meet the (second) dog of my dreams there and got to bring him home three days later. =)

What a beautiful boy he is!! (I love the brindles) I am sure he will be adopted soon to a good family. In the mean time…he looks like a great buddy for you, and I can’t imagine a better foster mom than you for him!!!

What a great new roommate. Poor fella though, I can’t believe someone would just get tired of him. Good luck and enjoy him while he’s around… :D
